China and Bangladesh Unite Through Culture at Tourism Fair
Sunday, September 22, 2024
The vibrant essence of Chinese culture was on full display during the 11th Asian Tourism Fair in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The three-day event, held from September 19 to 21, saw participation from over 100 tourism companies and institutions across Asia, including China, Bangladesh, and the Maldives.
China’s contribution to the fair was marked by the impressive “Hello! China” pavilion, designed to highlight the country’s rich cultural heritage and diverse tourism experiences. The pavilion, structured in the traditional Beijing architectural style with ornate eaves and brackets, featured a range of attractions, including paper cutting, Chinese knots, and traditional lanterns. Visitors were captivated by live performances showcasing Chinese and Bengali music and dance, further strengthening cultural ties between the two nations.
The event provided a platform for Chinese tourism officials to foster partnerships with businesses from neighboring countries, as part of China’s broader initiative to boost its tourism sector and promote cultural exchange.
The tourism fair is one of the largest events of its kind in South Asia, and China’s participation is seen as a strategic move to attract more Bangladeshi and international tourists to its historical and natural sites.
